Product & Learning Designer

I help create effective and efficient digital products

My name is Diego Rodríguez and for the last 4 years I have worked as a remote product designer for multinational companies. Currently, I live in Bilbao and I am looking for a new challenges.

Project experience

During my career, I collaborated with Alliance Healthcare (cencora), a leading pharmaceutical distribution company with more than 45,000 employees. My work focused on optimising processes related to the receipt and delivery of medicines. I worked in a robotic warehouse and managed a fleet of vans. In addition, I was involved in the company's transition to a product model from its previous focus as a software factory.

Previously, I was involved in the Packlink team, which was subsequently acquired by Auctane, the European leader in logistics for private individuals and small and medium-sized e-commerce companies. In this position, I focused on adapting processes to the UK customs legal framework. During the last year and a half, I was part of the multi-channel team, taking responsibility for the integration process of new users on various platforms (Shopify, Magento, Amazon…)

One of my key achievements was to increase the self-service integration rate by approximately 20%, which allowed the sales team to take a more consultative approach and contribute to improved customer outcomes and retention.

I have always worked in remote environments, but during the pandemic, I had the opportunity to participate in Mediktiv, a startup dedicated to medical telecare in hard-to-reach areas in developing countries, mainly in Africa and South America.

Together with the team, we worked on a medical training project based on clinical cases and collective learning to improve the skills of doctors, both inside and outside our network.

In collaboration with the front-end Tech Lead at Nitsnets, we developed a visual-agnostic design system (Raise), which optimised consistency and development time on complex projects for the consultancy's clients. This initiative resulted in a reduction of time and effort, as well as improving the initial development phases of high-volume e-commerce projects.

I have extensive experience in design and communication in the machine tool industry, working with several clients to improve their communications through websites, trade fairs and catalogues.

I have also led my own projects, such as RentMyDesk, a desk-surfing system to facilitate professional opportunities and support those taking their first steps in their careers. If I had to highlight one aspect of my profile, I would highlight my ability to work in a team and my affinity with technology. I feel comfortable working closely with colleagues from front-end, back-end, QA, among others.

Actually

Keeping up to date is a great challenge and above all opening up to new professional experiences. I am currently training in the discipline of Instructional Design to take advantage of all the experience as a trainer of the last years and also the skills used as a product designer (research, DDD, agile, etc). Also working, as a freelance, on various projects.
